Bio & Artist Statement

Bobby-David Mitchell is a poet and a photographer whose work is inspired by the impermanence and ever-changing in one’s existence with a true appreciation for the fragile beauty of the imperfect. While staring out from the misty Oregon coast and pondering his future he began photographing for his first book “Oblivion” (2016); after moving to Angel Fire, New Mexico he began to write poetry for “Oblivion,” ultimately creating a photography and poetry book. This sparked a writing renaissance for him and nine years later he has released his second book “Our Dreams…an Endless Summer” (2025) his first solely poetry book. Though despite being a writer since the age of twelve, he decided to pursue photography for his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the now defunct Santa Fe University of Art & Design (2010). Through happenstance he has found his way back towards writing again. He currently resides in New Mexico where he works in education.
